As a rule, you should try to minimize your consumption of dark liquids like coffee, red wine, soda, and tea. However, if you want to drink one of these beverages, using a straw can help. A straw will divert the staining liquid away from your teeth, ensuring your enamel stays safe.

Drink More Water

Water is the most important beverage for your health – oral and overall. Water keeps your mouth lubricated and will wash away acid and bacteria. It also wards of dry mouth and can fend off bad breath.

Try a Natural Mouthwash

There are plenty of natural mouthwashes that can help to clean out your mouth without the chemicals. While they won't kill the bacteria in your mouth, they will promote a good oral environment, which is good for your mouth and your overall health.

You can also rinse out your mouth with baking soda for a natural way to whiten your teeth and freshen your breath. Simply add ¼ teaspoons to a cup of water and rinse. This will help to balance your mouth's pH value.
