Remember That You Are a Role Model for Oral Hygiene

Those around you watch what you do. This is especially true if you are a parent. Your kids watch you and learn from your choices. If they see you going to the dentist regularly and taking really good care of your mouth, they will want to do the same.
It is important to remember those who may be watching you when it comes to how you take care of yourself on a regular basis. Here are some tips to make sure you are making the most out of your position as a role model.
Keep Up a Good Oral Hygiene Routine
The best thing you can do to make sure you set yourself up as a good role model is to keep your oral hygiene routine top notch. This means each morning and each night you brush your teeth for a solid two minutes.
One of those times, you also take the time to floss between all of the teeth in your mouth. The same time that you floss you should also take the time to rinse your mouth out really well with mouthwash. This gets all of the extra debris out of your mouth, and helps promote a healthy mouth.
Another thing that you need to do is make sure that you come in and see us at the right intervals. This means coming in when you have a problem, like a toothache, plus coming in for exams and cleanings every six months. We love to see you come in and to help you, and those around you also learn that seeing the dentist regularly is incredibly important.
Some people grow up fearing the dentist. However, if you set yourself up as a positive role model about caring for your teeth, then those around you should be able to bypass that fear.
A better kind of dental practice for your entire family.
